XBorg is an esports-focused gaming platform similar to Banger Games. They aim to target web2 and onboard them to web3 through fair incentives of paying the players what they're worth instead of the organizations taking the funds.
XBorg is backed by SwissBorg. They have some interesting takes on gamifying their ecosystem and their core values lie with fair compensation to the players, giving them NFT-based rewards like achievements and accolades, as well as providing a trustless ecosystem that all parties can participate in without running the risk of being exploited by the others. ### Core gameplay loop
XBorg allows players to leave a trace of their action and build an on-chain CV. Gamers will have NFTs that will act as a proof-of-play that can take various forms like a KDA (Kill/death ratio), clips of epic in-game moments, tournament victories, and so on.
The project aims at creating a meritocracy with gamified quests to obtain NFTs (XP) which will have utility on their platform to help gamers build a fan base and find support.
The final goal for participants of the ecosystem is to qualify for esport teams. Currently, gamers struggle with this goal as there is no middle point for a career in gaming. You either make it big or have nothing. XBorg allows gamers to slowly build fans, funding, and achievements during their career.

They raised $1M for their strategic round, but they are also backed by Swissborg which is a crypto wealth management, with $1B in AUM. 650k users. SwissBorg got funded only via an ICO in 2017 ($53m raised), and the company's equity is 100% owned by the founding team. ###Roadmap
The team already has a community of over 1500 players and a system with “energy points” to incentivize gamers to participate in the current early phase of the ecosystem. They organized 34 tournaments at the time of writing.
Their roadmap is achievable with the size of their team and the funding from Swissborg. ### NFT
The NFTs are named "XP" and have an infinite supply. They will not be transferable and are meant to hold not financial value. Instead, they will represent the in-app social status of the players.
When asked why they are using NFTs, Lou from the XBorg team explained the following: - Transparency, Interoperability & true ownership. - "The SBTs (Soulbound tokens) are yours. Data on Steam aren't yours. If they close your account, you lose it all". - "The SBTs are platform agnostic. Whether you play console, PC, Mobile, you receive the SBTs in the same wallet. See it as your in-game CV. We will be able to aggregate way more games". ### Founder details

The pros outweigh the risks for this project. While there are many similar projects out there, XBorg has more direct experience with gaming and esport and understand the core problems that their solution needs to be web2 first with the added web3 instead of the other way around. They are building a solution for problems they know with a sincere goal of helping the competitive gaming sphere at all levels.
